monday inspiration: help portrait

I'm sorry this is so incredibly late. does it even count as a Monday inspiration? oh well. it's still early in the week.

*edit: totally forgot to mention that this is all happening Saturday, December 4th. I think it starts at 9 and ends at 3 but most volunteers will need to be there early and some will need to stay late and help clean up.*

I'm so excited about this project. (learn more by watching the video above and/or going to the website!) remember when I posted that one of my goals this winter was to get involved and volunteer? well, shortly after I saw this post on Laurie Crutchfield's blog about help-portrait in Greenville. the timing was so perfect and me and mom showed up to the volunteer meeting. I'm so excited to be a part of this and I know this will really make a difference in people's lives.

unfortunately, just a few weeks out we are still very short on help, mainly in the makeup and hair department and we need to raise a lot more money than we have right now. here are some ways you can help!

- volunteer! the last email update I got said we really need hair stylists (we could use at least 8 more), make up artists (7+ more), people to serve food (6+ more), floaters (4-6), and crowd control (2-3). if you want to get involved PLEASE email Laurie Crutchfield: lcphoto@suddenlink.net
hair stylists and makeup artists do not have to be professional! we're looking for beauty school students and people who are good at doing their own hair and makeup etc. you will need to be able to work with all skin and hair types.

- donate! trash bags, bowls, spoons, napkins, drinks/ice, warm gently used or new clothing and blankets, makeup, and MONEY. for a full list contact Laurie!
donate money to Help Portrait Greenville, NC we really need to raise $1,250 just for ink, paper, and sleeves!

- Laurie has organized a raffle involving a photo shoot with 6 amazing photographers in the area. you can read more about here and buy your ticket! tickets are $25 and go straight to the cause! winners will be drawn and matched randomly with one the extremely talented photographers on board. you will get a free mini session (30 minutes) complete with a CD with 15 high resolution edited images with copyrights. the photographers involved are:

if you're not around here then find one in your area and get involved! or donate! I think this is going to be seriously amazing but we need help to pull it off.
I'm so excited and hopefully I will remember/have time (I'm on the makeup crew. . .so far we only have 3 people signed up so we'll see :P) to take some behind the scenes photos to show you guys. :)
