I get quite tired of all the grandma's saying "you'll break that camera!" and hiding whenever you point it at them. I think they have a certain beauty to them that is very different from our usual standards. everyone always pulls at their wrinkles and smears makeup on to cover up their signs of age, they buy color for their hair but the thing is, people get old. their beauty fades. it's life. it happens.
but I think once you let go and you accept that you're not as young as you once were you get to start living again. I think that's why old people are so beautiful.
they see wrinkles but I see trails that laughter left, crinkles from those smiles, and signs of a life lived deeply, fully, simply, with grace and love.
sorry for the mini rant-ish. here's the pictures from my great aunt Brenda's birthday mini-party. we always bring her banana pudding because it's her favorite.
Happy (late) Birthday Aunt Brenda!
and hey, guess what? my camera didn't break :)
(I love old people's hands too! photographer's dream ;) )
have I mentioned how much I love my new lens?
oh Granny "D," you're worse than mother dear. . .
(*points camera* "oh wait, just a second. *pulls face back* "there you go." ahhhh. like I said, young souls. ;P )
apparently, I just have a hand fetish.
FAV!
