youth sunday

oh man. serious lack of post-age going on here. so terribly sorry. I'm trying. anyways. . .

a couple of months ago, my friend Brooke asked if I would do makeup for a skit at their church and of course I said yes. especially after seeing the concept. demon makeup = SO MUCH FUN. seriously, super dramatic, red and grey and blackness? HUCK YUSS I SAID YES.

anyway. so I brought my camera with me to the dress rehearsal and got these photos of the skit. they did such an awesome job. seriously. so excited for these guys. I think it really had an impact on people at the church. I took pictures from different places every time they went through it but I organized it so that it accurately tells the story. I don't remember what the song was called and I can't find a video of it but I think you get the gist. =)

the makeup (not my bestest work but it did look better in person. + Brooke was taking FOREVER to get ready so I didn't have as much time to get hers how I wanted it and such. oh well.)
(soorryyyy low light + no flash = crappy photos)

the skit (which, if I'm not mistaken - and I very well may be - Tiana - who plays The Girl - wrote. well, even if she didn't write it, I do know for sure that she was the one who made this happen. she cast it and put it all together and did an amazing job. for serious) :

ahhh it was so awesome. when they did it in church and "Jesus" stood up, a bunch of people stood and started cheering. it almost made me cry haha.

this photo set actually includes a "deleted scene" of sorts. the knife part ended up being cut out of the actual performance because there was some concern about it being safe for the kids to watch and such. this actually happened about one minute before they went on and some of them didn't even know they didn't have the knife but they played it off real well. I didn't even notice it wasn't there until the guy scene and I was like. . "what?? did I miss the knife?? what happened????" but seriously. they were great. and it felt pretty awesome to watch and say, yeah, I was kinda part of that, those are my friends up there, yeah.

:) I wish I had a video to show you guys. .maybe if I find one I'll post it later. anyway. hope you enjoyed! I'm trying to catch up on my posts, I have a lot to show you guys. I've even been dabbling in baking and such (been trying out more vegan and vegetarian recipes. . .yummm) so I might show some food pictures + some of my favorite recipes. good idea? bad idea?
anyway.

love and dinosaur hugs,
lindsay
